About Me

Cristóbal Maturana

Hi, I'm Cristóbal.

I'm a documentary photographer based in Hội An, Vietnam, where I live with my wife Paulina and our two kids. This city has been our home for years — and it's shaped the way I see light, people, and the quiet moments that matter most.

Photography, for me, has always been about connection. Not technique. Not equipment. Connection — with the person in front of the camera, with the place, with the story that's unfolding right now and won't repeat itself.

I believe photographs are one of the few things we leave behind that actually carry feeling. A frame well made isn't just a record — it's a piece of a life. That's what drives me every time I pick up a camera: the idea that what I make today will matter to someone twenty years from now.

I work with people who want honest images. Weddings photographed as they actually happen. Portraits that look like you, not a version of you. Photo tours that take you somewhere real, before the tourists arrive.

"My job isn't to make you look good. It's to make you look true."
